The Armed Forces of the Philippines is contemplating on filing a disbarment case against lawyer Harry Roque, legal counsel of the family of slain transgender Jennifer Roque, for "misbehaving" inside the AFP headquarters last October 22.
In a statement, the AFP said all visitors of a military camp should respect and abide by the rules and protocols governing the facility.
"As for Atty. Harry Roque, the CSAFP (Chief of Staff of the AFP) is strongly considering the filing of a formal complaint against him before the Integrated Bar of the Philippines, if warranted. The bases for this complaint are his inappropriate actions inside camp premises during the intrusion incident on October 22 (Wed).
"He is a brilliant lawyer who should be an epitome of discipline and respect for law and order. We expect the IBP to take appropriate sanctions (like disbarment).
"We don’t want him to misbehave inside military camps and subject our soldiers to his tirades again," the APF statement read.
During his visit to the AFP headquarters, Roque, along with some members of the Laude family and the victim's German fiance Marc Suselbeck, reportedly tried to enter the facility where US Marine Pfc. Joseph Scott Pemberton is detained.
Suselbeck and one of Laude's sisters climbed the fence surrounding the facility to confront Pemberton, the principal suspect in the killing of the Filipino transgender.
The AFP has opted not to file any criminal complaint against Suselbeck for the fence-climbing so that he can leave the country.
The military has already asked the Bureau of Immigration to declare Suselbeck as an "undesirable alien" so he will be barred from re-entering the Philippines.
