Troopers from the 10th Infantry Division are conducting pursuit operations against two unidentified men, believed to be rebel extortionists, who burned two units of heavy equipment in Purok 2, Barangay Baylo, Monkayo town, Compostela Valley Saturday night.

Capt. Ernest Carolina, 10th Infantry Division spokesperson, reported that the destroyed equipment consisted of one backhoe and one mini-roller owned by LC Ting Construction which is based in Butuan City.

He said that two unidentified men, aboard an unmarked motorcycle, approached the construction equipment and set them afire after dousing them with gasoline at about 11:45 p.m. Saturday.

The suspects then fled aboard the motorcycle toward Trento town, Agusan Del Sur.
