From the Philippine News Agency (Aug 20): BIFF harasses Army detachment in Maguindanao, no losses to government troopers

Undetermined numbers of Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters (BIFF) have fired upon the temporary patrol base of the 62nd Division Reconnaissance Company in Sitio Dam, Barangay Damabalas, Datung Piang town, Maguindanao Wednesday morning.

The harassment and sniping attack took place around 9:50 a.m., Major Dante Gania, 6th Infantry Division public affairs office chief said.

No losses were reported on the government side.

Gania said that troopers assigned to the facility conducted counter-sniping tactics at the BIFF.

Sporadic shooting is still ongoing as of this posting.
