From the Philippine News Agency (May 6): Western Command to confirm reports on missing German couple

The Puerto Princesa-based Western Command on Tuesday announced that it is still verifying reports of the German couple who went missing off waters near the Palawan and Sabah boundary.

Lt. Gen. Roy Deveraturda, Western Command commander, identified the missing Germans as Stefan Viktor Okonek, 71 and Herike Diesen.

He added that the two were aboard a yacht on island hopping, when they went missing sometimes in April 25.

Deveraturda said that they are looking into reports that still unidentified elements abducted the two while on the high seas.

The Western Command chief stated that the Philippine Coast Guard is also conducting its own search for the two.

"We are still searching and confirming this report (abduction) but for the meantime, we still consider them missing."
