Philippine Air Force commander Lt. Gen. Jeffrey Delagado has appointed Lt. Col. Enrico Canaya as spokesman to replace Col. Miguel Ernesto Okol.

Okol and Canaya are classmates at the Philippine Military Academy “Tanglaw-Diwa” Class of 1992.

Okol, who served as spokesman in the service for more than five years, has been assigned operations director at Basa Air Base based in Pampanga.

He will direct the training of fighter pilots for 12 FA50 jets due for delivery from South Korea.

The government allocated P18.9 billion to acquire lead-in fighter trainer jets manufactured by a joint venture of United States firm Lockheed Martin and Korean Aerospace Inc.
