From InterAksyon (Apr 30): Alleged Al Khobar extortion gang member nabbed in Maguindanao

Military and police intelligence agents captured in Maguindanao province on Tuesday an alleged member of the Al Khobar gang, which has been linked to several bombings to extort money from businesses in Mindanao.

Quoting reports from Chief Superintendent Lester Camba, Region 12 police director, Philippine National Police spokesman Senior Superintendent Wilben Mayor said Tahir Abubakar was arrested in Buluan town on a warrant of arrest for murder.

The suspect, who has a P400,000 bounty for his capture, was allegedly involved in several bombings in Regions 11 and 12.

Abubakar is in the custody of the police in President Quirino town, Sultan Kudarat.

Meanwhile, in Pampanga, police seized a cache of firearms and ammunition in a raid on the home of Amado Serrano in Porac town.

Senior Superintendent Ismael Fernandez of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit of the Region 3 police office said 14 9mm pistols, 14 12-gauge shotguns, 16 .38 caliber revolvers and assorted ammunition were seized in the raid.
