From the Philippine Information Agency (Apr 16): 87th IB commander encourages media to promote peace

“In peace, everybody wins. Every Filipinos deserve better and peaceful life.”These were uttered by 87th Infantry Battalion Commander Antonio Dulnuan Jr. as he encouraged media partners to pass peace during the media forum held at 87th IB camp, Calbiga, Samar on April 14, Monday.

“Peace cannot be achieved through fear and violence, it can only be attained through understanding,” Dulnuan expressed.

Recently, the New People’s Army (NPA) celebrated their 45th anniversary and according to Dulnuan, this shows the long years of armed struggle in the country.

He also revealed that since 1971, there were 23,472 have already recorded deaths, 12,842 wounded and 2.9 Billion destroyed properties.

“How many more years of fear and violence? We need peace now! Pass the peace please. Let us all come together in peace.”

He also asked the media partners to disseminate what the government is really doing for the betterment of the lives of his people.

He emphasized that each one can make a difference.

During the said activity, some members of the media pledge their commitment to Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and vowed that they will spread peace through their media outlets.
