The Mindanao Human Rights Action Center (MinHRac) in a meeting on February 28, 2014 passed a resolution appointing a new Executive Director and representative to the Third Party Monitoring Team (TPMT) of the Government of the Philippines (GPH) and Moro Islamic Liberation (MILF) after Atty. Zainudin Malang tendered his resignation as Executive Director and representative to the TPMT.
In the resolution by the Board of Trustees (BOT) of the MINHRAC held at Pagana Kutawato, Cotabato City, it said that the BOT appointed Abdulbasit R. Benito as a new Executive Director of the said association and Rahib L. Kudto as a new representative to the TPMT in order to pursue MINHRAC’s mandates in empowering conflict affected communities in Mindanao through promotion of human rights.
The MINHRAC’s BOT agreed to disseminate the resolutions as wide as possible especially to the GPH and MILF Peace Panel Chairs and the Third Party Facilitator for their information and guidance.
“FINALLY, it is resolved to furnish copies of these resolutions to the Office of the Chairmen of the Peace Panels of the GPH and MILF, Chairman of the Bangsamoro Transition Commission (BTC), Office of the Chairman of the Third Party Monitoring Team (TPMT), and Office of the GPH-MILF Peace Process Third Party Facilitator,” says resolution.
The TPMT is mandated by the GPH and MILF to monitor, review and asses all signed agreements, primarily the Framework Agreement on the Bangsamoro and its annexes.
