raps against 10 NPA members


A rebel returnee filed complaints of grave coercion and robbery against his former comrades before the Guihulngan City Police Station, who allegedly barred him from staying in Negros island for three years.

Former rebel Oliver Villahermosa, who surrendered recently to the 11 th Infantry Battalion, was threatened by his former comrades he identified as Enric and Rosalie Calago, Elizabeth Grayan and Felisa Calago, as well as six armed members of the Sandatahang Yunit Pampropaganda of the New People's Army, who went to his residence on Feb. 16, in Brgy. Tacpao, Guihulngan City, Lt. Col Wilfredo Isaac, outgoing 11 th IB commander, said.

Isaac said Villahermosa was punished by the NPA for surrendering to the Army Bayanihan Team, and for availing of the Balik Baril and Comprehensive Local Integration programs of the government.

The rebel suspects also took the two cellular phones of Villahermosa.

Isaac said the implementation of the “Barangay Arrest System” of the NPA in the hinterland barangays of Guihulngan City, led to the dislocation of 15 persons and their families.
