From ABS-CBN (Mar 22): Abducted student recovered in Zamboanga Sibugay

Authorities from Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay have recovered a radiologic technologist intern, apparently the son of a lawyer, who was reportedly abducted outside the premises of the Zamboanga City Medical Center on Friday morning.

Inspector Raul Clavecillas, chief of police of Ipil Municipal Police Station, identified the victim as Basil Brice Bernardo, 19.

According to a report, Bernardo was abducted by more or less five armed men and was transported to Ipil on board a white van.

However, there was no information made available by authorities on how he was released by his alleged abductors.

He was recovered around 3 p.m. of the same date, and was taken to the Ipil police station for further investigation.

Clavecillas said that they can't confirm yet as to the motive of the incident.
