From the Philippine News Agency (Mar 25): 4 ex-rebels in Negros Oriental gets P65,000 each financial assistance

The Tanjay City-based 302nd Infantry Brigade announced that P260,000 financial assistance were handed to four ex-rebel fighters who opted to rejoin mainstream society early this year.

According to unit spokesperson Capt. Crescencio C. Gargar, the awarding of the livelihood assistance was held Monday during a short ceremony at community hall of Barangay Tacpao, Guihulngan City, Negros Oriental.

Each former New People's Army (NPA) fighter received P65,000 from the Office of the Presidential Adviser on the Peace Process (OPPAP).

The livelihood assistance aims to ensure their successful integration to the community and to improve their socio-economic status.
