Months after the signing of the Annexes on Wealth Sharing (in July 2013) and Power Sharing (in December 2013) in the Bangsamoro, both the government and the Moro Islamic Liberation Front signed an additional item related to these annexes when they concluded the peace talks in Kuala Lumpur two Saturdays ago.
This is the Addendum on the Bangsamoro Waters and Zones of Joint Cooperation which maps the areas that would form part of the Bangsamoro territory as well as those where the still-to-be-formed Bangsamoro government and the central Philippine government can have joint cooperation activities.
The Office of the Presidential Adviser on the Peace Process created this infograph for easier understanding of the Bangsamoro waters.
The comprehensive peace agreement, set to be signed either this month or in March, is hoped to also bring progress in the country’s resource-rich but poorest region.
