From the Philippine News Agency (Feb 11): AFP chief visits Eastern Mindanao Command to ensure 'Bayanihan' implementation

To ensure that the operational thrust of Internal Peace Security Plan "Bayanihan" will be maintained, Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) chief-of-staff Gen. Emmanuel T. Garcia visited the Eastern Mindanao Command on Tuesday.

Capt. Alberto Caber, the unit's spokesman, said Bautista's visit took place at 7:30 a.m. at their Naval Station Felix Apolinario, Panacan town, Davao City.

Bautista’s visit to the Eastern Mindanao Command aims to directly oversee the respective operational thrust for 2014 in connection with the implementation of the “Bayanihan”.

The AFP chief was personally briefed by Eastern Mindanao Command head Lt. Gen. Ricardo Rainier G. Cruz III on the progress of “Bayanihan” in his area of operations.

Bautista congratulated the officers and men of Eastern Mindanao Command for continuously winning the peace in Eastern Mindanao.

During his talk to the men, the AFP chief said he wanted to get feedback directly from the commanders for him to get their operational, administrative, and logistics concerns.
