PA hosts planning round of military exercises between PHL, Malaysia

From the Philippine News Agency (Jan 28): PA hosts planning round of military exercises between PHL, Malaysia

In preparation for the bilateral military exercises between the Philippines and Malaysia this year, the Philippine Army (PA) is hosting the initial planning conference this Jan. 28 to 31 at the Dusit Thani Hotel in Makati City.

With delegations from the Malaysian Army and the PA, the initial planning exercise for the Training Activity Land (Malaysia-Philippines) MALPHI 15-2014 aims to finalize the exercise dates, venue, force participation, exercise concept, logistical requirements and other details necessary for the successful conduct of the activity.

Last year, the PA hosted the 14th series of the Training Activity Land MALPHI, a yearly bilateral exercise between the PA and Malaysian Army, which was held at the Peacekeeping Operations Center in Camp O'Donnell, Capas, Tarlac.

Last year's Land MALPHI Exercise provided a venue for both forces to exchange military know-how on how to better address the various defense and security challenges confronting the two Armies.

The exercise also included operations on humanitarian assistance and disaster response.

The Training Activity Land MALPHI aims to enhance the interoperability of both Armies, as well as the long-standing professional relationship and cooperation between them.

This year's exercises will be hosted by Malaysia.
