From the Philippine News Agency (Sep 24): Death toll in Zamboanga City crisis now at 140
 
With the stand-off between military and Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF) Nur Misuari fighters now on its 16th day, the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) on Tuesday announced that the death toll has now climbed to 140.

In its 6 p.m. update, AFP deputy public affairs chief Major Angelo Guzman said the figures can be broken down into the following:

-AFP: 13 killed, 148 wounded in action

-PNP: 5 killed, 14 wounded

-Civilians: 12 killed, 51 wounded

MNLF: 110 killed, Captured 93, surrendered 45.

Guzman said the number of hostages rescued is now at 182 with the number of high-powered firearms recovered at 78 and low-powered firearms at 15.

Clearing operations are still ongoing as of this posting.
