79 candidate soldiers finish training in Isabela

From the Philippine News Agency (Sep 6): 79 candidate soldiers finish training in Isabela

At least seventy nine candidate soldiers finished their six-month extensive military training after graduating Thursday at Camp Melchor dela Cruz based in this town.

Army 1st Lieutenant Rowena Abayon, division public affairs office chief, said the new graduates will become an organic member of the army division and will be dispatched to the different army units of the 5th Infantry Division.

During the graduation rites, army North Luzon Command chief Major General Gregorio Catapang urged the new soldiers to abide to the military commands and apply what they have learned in their training.

Catapang was the guest of honor during the graduation ceremony Thursday at the camps grandstand.

The new soldiers were automatically enlisted with the rank of private first class.

Meanwhile, another batch of 159 candidate soldiers were also inducted to undergo a six-month extensive military inside the camp. Most of the trainees are from Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) or former members and sons and daughters of Cordillera People’s Liberation Army (CPLA).

The integration of former members and sons and daughters of CPLA is part of the peace process agreement signed between the government peace panel and Cordillera Forum for Peace and Development officials.
