From ABS-CBN (Jun 8): US ship, submarine arrive in Subic
A US Navy submarine tender and submarine arrived at the Subic Bay port on Saturday.
The submarine tender USS Frank Cable and submarine USS Asheville are docked in Subic for a routine port call and maintenance.
The visit will also allow US sailors to tour the Subic Bay Freeport Zone.
Officials earlier said the visit aims to "highlight the strong historic community and military relations between the Philippines and the United States."
The women’s group Kaisa Ka, meanwhile, protests the presence of US military personnel in the country.

Interesting. Haven't seen much in the Philippine media recently about Kaisa Ka (Pagkakaisa ng Kababaihan para sa Kalayaan or Unity of Women for Freedom), a women's front associated with the breakaway Marxist Leninist Party of the Philippines (MLPP) that operates mainly in Central Luzon. Kaisa Ka is closely associated with the main MLPP multisectoral front organization, KPD (Kilusan para sa Pambansang Demokrasya or Movement for National Democracy).
