Women protest rejecting US presence in Subic

SUBIC. A member of women group Kaisa-Ka participates in a protest rejecting the presence of US troops inside Subic Bay Freeport. The protest was held outside Subic Bay Freeport to also celebrate 102nd International Women’s Day. (Anthony Bayarong)

  1. Kaisa-Ka is a sectoral front for women and is a member of the umbrella front organization Kilusan Para sa Pambansang Demokrasya (Movement for National Democracy). Both groups are front organizations associated with the Marxist Leninist Party of the Philippines (MLPP. The MLPP broke away from the Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) sometime in 1998 following the period of ideological wrangling that took place within the CPP in the mid-1990s.
