MILF: Prayer rally for peace in Sabah held in Marawi City

Posted to the MILF Website (Mar 9): Prayer rally for peace in Sabah held in Marawi City

"We both love our Malaysian and our fellow Moro Tausug brothers."

“Cease the fighting and talk as Muslims." Says Muhammad D. Salahuddin, one of the participants in a prayer rally held right after Jumaat (Friday) prayer at Banggolo, Marawi City yesterday.

Hundreds of Moro from Ranaw Region trooped to the Central Distirct of Marawi City to participate in a spontaneous activity to beseech Allah (S.W.T.) for guidance and help in the on-going Sabah Stand-off between the Malaysian Government and the Sultanate of Sulu that claims dozens of lives from both parties.

A young female participant who refused to be identified reminded the conflicting parties to follow the example of our Prophet (Peace be upon him) that during his time whenever Muslims were divided on issues, the Prophet (PBUH) used to bring them together.

Speakers led by Agakhan M. Sharief of Halal Bangsamoro Governance appealed to both the Malaysian Government and the Sulu Sultanate to sit down and open dialogues to look for possible solution without the use of force and threat.

“We must not allow this issue to divide us Muslims." added by Mr. Sharief.

The rally ended with a prayer led by Uztadz Jamil Yahya of the Supreme Ulama Council.
