officers in Al Barka massacre: 'Not sure yet'
The Department of National Defense (DND) is not sure how it will proceed with the cases of four senior Army officers, who are facing a military court trial for charges in connection with the ambush-slaying of 19 soldiers by the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) rebels in Al-Barka Basilan on October 18, 2011. “Let’s see. I am not sure yet. We will consult. I don’t have details yet. But everybody wants a closure to these cases and we move forward,” DND spokesperson Peter Paul Galvez said in an interview on Tuesday.... Former Special Forces Regimental Commander Col. Amikandra Undog, ex-Basilan island military commander Col. Alexander Macario, 4th Special Forces Battalion commander Lt. Col. Leonardo Pena, and Lt. Col. Orlando Edralin, former Special Forces training school commander are facing charges before a military court for the carnage of the 19 soldiers....
