CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City—The Commission on Appointments approved the ad interim promotion of 129 military officers during the plenary session and deliberation in Pasay City on March 19.One major general, two brigadier generals, and 126 colonels and navy captains comprise this batch of promoted officers. Also cited on the floor are the 13 female senior officers, including Col Francel Margareth Padilla, the first female spokesperson of the AFP.
Their confirmation proves the effective implementation of the AFP promotion system that prioritizes compentency and character in the selection of future leaders of the military.
