CAMP DANGWA, Benguet – Two New People’s Army rebels surrendered to the police in Mountain Province and Kalinga.

Police Brig. Gen. David Peredo Jr., Police Regional Office-Cordillera chief, said a 35-year-old team leader of
Squad Dos, Unit Malliari of Ka SLY under the Lejo Cawilan Command-Kilusang Larangang Guerilla (KLG), surrendered to the in Kalinga and yielded a caliber .45 pistol with a magazine and five bullets.

On the other hand, a 40-year-old member of the
Militia ng Bayan surrendered In Mountain Province.


Peredo said the two surrenderers expressed support to the unification program of the National Task Force to End Local Communist and Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC) under Executive Order No. 70 and the Regional Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (RLECC), Resolution No. 6, Series of 2021, dubbed "Dumanon Makitungtung" (Come and Talk to Villagers).

He said their decision to surrender underscores the success of the government's intensified reintegration efforts facilitated by the “Task Force Balik-Loob” program and the NTF-ELCAC.

Both individuals are undergoing debriefing and proper disposition.
