Macarascas, Puerto Princesa City, June 2 – The head of the AFP Western Command (WESCOM), Vice Admiral Alberto Carlos PN graced this morning’s closing ceremony of the Philippine Navy’s (PN) first-ever mobilization exercise dubbed as PN MOBEX 2023. Naval Forces West (NFW) successfully conducted the week-long exercise with a total of 114 naval reservists benefiting from all the lined-up training events.

The overall exercise objective is to improve the capability of the Fleet-Marine team along with its counterparts from the Naval Reserve Force particularly in planning and execution of External Security Operations (ESO) such as maritime and sovereignty patrols in the West Philippine Sea (WPS), and enhancing interagency collaboration in support of the PN’s Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR) efforts in the WESCOM Joint Operational Area (JOA).

 
The successful conclusion of the PN MOBEX 2023 is a testament to the PN’s commitment to continuously improve the capabilities and readiness of both its regular and reserve force components toward providing WESCOM with the “Total Force” necessary to fulfill its mandate of securing and protecting the country’s national interest. “I could no longer tell the difference between the reserve force and the regular force. They all looked and performed equally well in the exercises”, remarked VAdm Carlos during his message to all the participating troops. “Number one sa akin ang mga reservists and I thank all of them for voluntarily committing their much precious time and effort in serving the country through the reserve force”, added the WESCOM Chief.
