PRESIDENT QUIRINO, Sultan Kudarat, Feb. 18 (PIA) – A newly-constructed barracks for the officers and senior non-commissioned officers (NCOs) of the 40th Infantry (Magiting) Battalion based in Brgy. Tual here, was inaugurated on February 15.
BGen Roy Galido, Brigade Commander of 601st Infantry (Unifier) Brigade, 6ID, PA, LTC Rogelio Gabi, Commanding Officer of 40IB, together with Maguindanao Governor Bai Mariam Sangki-Mangudadatu and Former Sultan Kudarat Governor Sultan Pax Mangudadatu led the ceremonial cutting of ribbon for the new facility named “Agila Hall”.
In his message, BGen Galido lauded the men and women of 40IB for being of excellent service to the people of Sultan Kudarat and Maguindanao.
“I am encouraging you to continue the good deeds and keep up the good work. You deserve this kind of facility because you have been a top performing battalion,” Galido said.

Meanwhile, Maguindanao Governor Bai Mariam Sangki-Mangudadatu expressed her continuous support to the Philippine Army as their partner in pushing for peace, security and progress in the province.
The lady governor also encouraged everyone to support her advocacy for peace, unity, reconciliation and empowerment of the people in the province of Maguindanao.
“The provincial government is focused on the delivery of government services, such as livelihood assistance for the deprived communities, particularly to the former rebels who are now returning in the folds of law,” said Governor Mangudadatu.
Soldiers of the 40IB started the construction of the barracks last November and was completed earlier this year.
