Police authorities have arrested three ranking communist terrorist leaders in Luzon and the Visayas wanted for several charges in separate operations on Thursday, the country's top cop said on Friday.

“The Warrants of Arrest were issued against wanted CPP-NPA-NDF (Communist Party of the Philippines-New People's Army-National Democratic Front) personalities and is pursuant to Executive Order No. 70 creating the National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC),”
said Philippine National Police (PNP) chief, Gen. Debold Sinas, in a statement.

In Western Visayas, police
arrested Ruffa Baynosa on Thursday noon at Hacienda Ambulong, Barangay San Fernando, Talisay City, Negros Occidental.

Baynosa, who is a medical officer of the NPA unit operating in the towns of Calatrava and Toboso in Negros Occidental, is wanted for seven counts of frustrated murder.

In Southern Luzon, Amito Aballe alias 'Tomsky' was arrested in Barangay Poblacion, San Francisco, Quezon on charges of double murder and multiple attempted murder.


He will be presented before the sala of Judge Maria Chona E. Pulgar-Navarro of Calauag, Quezon Regional Trial Court Branch 63, which handles the charges against him.

In Isabela, police officers nabbed Rey Miguel Busania in Santiago City, who is wanted for charges of direct assault, murder, multiple frustrated murder, serious illegal detention, robbery, and carnapping.

He is now detained at the facility of the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology in Santiago City.

From January to December 2020, the PNP arrested a total of 433 CPP-NPA-NDF personalities while 3,155 voluntarily surrendered.

“They must be held liable for the crimes that they have committed against the state and various individuals,” Sinas said.

The CPP-NPA is listed as a terrorist organization by the United States, European Union, the United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, and the Philippines.
