CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga, Jan. 13 (PIA) -- Four former members of Militiang Bayan voluntarily surrendered to the police.

"Ka Edwin”, "Ka Edith”, "Ka Marvin” and "Ka Tony" are all residents of Dipaculao, Aurora.

Police Regional Director PBGen. Valeriano De Leon called on other members of the Communist Party of the Philippines-New People’s Army and their affiliated groups to voluntarily turn themselves in.

"I am once again calling on both active and former members of the armed group to lay down their arms and start their lives anew this New Year,” Valeriano said.

“Our government has several programs to retool you so that you could all become even more productive members of our society," he furthered.

Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program provides social and legal services to former rebels so they can easily adapt in the mainstream society. (CLJD/GLSB-PIA 3)
