A local terrorist group sub-leader submitted himself to the military at 9:30 a.m., July 14, 2020.

Abdullah Lumzed Arumpac, a.k.a. Afghan, also yielded his Caliber 5.56mm AR15 M16A1 Rifle with one short magazine and 20 rounds of ammunition at the 103rd Brigade headquarters in Kampo Ranao, Marawi City.

“Arumpac was involved in the encounter at Sandab, Butig in 2015 and in Ragayan, Poona Bayabao where he suffered gunshot wound at his lower abdomen while three of his members died,” said Col. Jose Maria Cuerpo II, 103Bde Commander.

Said personality decided to lie low after the encounter at Poona Bayabao.

“We are happy that Afghan finally made up his mind and expressed his intent to join the government and the peace-loving Filipinos in sustaining the peace in Mindanao without the use of arms,” said Maj. Gen. Generoso Ponio, JTF ZamPeLan Commander.

Subject is currently undergoing custodial at H103Bde.

“We attribute this accomplishment not only to our dedicated soldiers but to our partners and the people of Mindanao as well,” said WestMinCom Commander Lt. Gen. Cirilito Sobejana.

“This is a manifestation of the solidarity among the AFP and a strong multi-sector collaboration as we have achieved more with the involvement of the local government, our stakeholders, and the communities,” the living hero added.
