Kalinaw News: New breed of soldiers, now deployment-ready

CAMP SANG-AN, Pulacan, ZDS – Three hundred eighty-one privates are now ready to be deployed after historically completing the 1st class of Infantry Operations Course (INFOC) 9:00 a.m. held here today, March 9, 2020.

The INFOC was formerlly known as Jungle Warfare Mountain Operations Course intended for the newly graduated Candidate Soldiers.

The training was conceptualized to add and revised subjects in order hone their skills and improve the knowledge they’ve acquired in the basic military training.

The students also demonstrated Pikiti Tersia and Close Quarter Battle, a very significant part of their training that employs a military operations in Urban setting.

Maj. Gen. Gene Ponio, the 1st Infantry Division Commander and the keynote speaker, congratulated the students and thanked the parents, relatives and loveones who continuously inspire and strengthen the privates.

“This is a very historical event in 1ID. We transformed a world-class soldiers and molded them as professionals”, said Ponio.

“We will continuously train a more disciplined and patriot soldiers to serve the constituents of Western Mindanao”, added Ponio.
