3 NPA members, 6 Militia ng Bayan voluntarily surrender to army, police

TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan, Dec. 22 (PIA) - Three (3) regular members of the Communist-NPA-Terrorists (CNTs) and six (6) Militia ng Bayan (MBs) voluntarily surrenderedto the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and Philippine National Police (PNP) on Dec. 18.

The nine rebels also surrendered to the government forces one (1) M60 Machine Gun (Belgium), one (1) M14 riffle, twelve (12) M16 riffles, numerous Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs), IED Components and other subversive documents.

The success of the said surrender is a result of the continuous campaign to End Local Communism Armed Conflict (ELCAC) under Executive Order 70 through the Joint AFP-PNP Law Enforcement Operations implemented by 502Bde, and the effort of the Community Support Program (CSP) Teams from 95 Infantry Batallion (IB), 17 Infantry Batallion (IB), 86 Infantry Batallion (IB) and CMO Battalion Operationally Controlled by 95IB.
