PH Army lauds Rangers, Cyber Team for sterling accomplishments

From the Philippine News Agency (Oct 21, 2019): PH Army lauds Rangers, Cyber Team for sterling accomplishments

The Philippine Army (PA) on Monday formally commended the eight-man Scout Ranger team who won the silver medal in the just-concluded Exercise Cambrian Patrol 2019 in Wales, United Kingdom and the Army Cyber Defense Team, which was hailed as "Best Defense Team" in the recent Joint Exercise "DAGIT PA".

“The accomplishments of the Scout Ranger Team and the PA Cyber Defense Team are affirmations that we are on track and on target along our journey of transformation,”
PA commander, Lt. Gen. Macairog S. Alberto said during the recognition ceremonies which took place at Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City.

The Army Scout Ranger Team was awarded a silver medal during the Exercise Cambrian Patrol 2019 in Wales, United Kingdom.

The Rangers were able to successfully execute various military operations in the Cambrian Mountains despite extreme weather and terrain conditions.

They were among the 140 international military teams that participated in the event from October 14 to 16.

Meanwhile, the Army Cyber Defense Team was awarded the “Best Defense Team” after being hailed as the over-all champion in the cyber defense exercise category of the Armed Forces of the Philippines Joint Exercise "Dagat-Langit-Lupa" (AJEX 'DAGIT-PA') in Tarlac and Zambales last September 16-27.

The PA Cyber Team's prowess was put to test as they performed capabilities in protecting, detecting and responding to cyberattacks.

“Be it on the frontlines on the ground or in cyberspace, the Philippine Army will continue to innovate and level up. This definitely means that we are reaching our goal of becoming a world-class Army,” Alberto said.
