SAN JORGE, Samar -- Another town in the Province of Samar, San Jorge, has responded to the call of the President to converge and end the local communist armed conflict.
In a joint MPOC-MDC meeting conducted on Wednesday, Oct. 23, the Municipality of San Jorge organized and launched its Municipal Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (MTF-ELCAC).
The orientation about Executive Order Number 70 (Whole-of-Nation Approach), Call to Action, and CTG Infiltration of the Bureaucracy was provided by the Situational Awareness and Knowledge Management (SAKM) Cluster of RTF8-ELCAC.
On the other hand, the concepts and methodology of the Retooled Community Support Program (RCSP) including the role of the LGU in its implementation was presented by the MLGOO, Mr. Gilbert Hilvano.
The organization and launching of San Jorge Municipal Task Force ELCAC highlighted the joint meeting which was attended by Dir. Bonifacio B. Cebrian Jr., regional director of the National Intelligence Coordinating Agency - 8; Col Camilo Z. Ligayo INF (MNSA) PA, commander, 801st Brigade; PCol Andre P. Dizon, Samar PNP provincial director; LtC Reynaldo B. Balido Jr. INF (GSC) PA, commanding officer of 87IB; and LtC Edgar Allan B. Orbito INF (GSC) PA, commanding officer of 8CMO Bn.
Municipal Mayor and MTF Chair Leo de Guia urged all the council members especially the Punong Barangays to do their part in the implementation of EO70, reminding them to organize their respective Barangay Task Forces especially those in the conflict-affected areas in preparation for the immersion of the RCSP Teams.
