CAMP SIONGCO, Awang, Datu Odin Sinsuat, Maguindanao –The troops of 90th Infantry Battalion and 61st Division Reconnaissance Company recovered a rifle grenade and drug paraphernalia as the military conducted clearing operation in Barangay Kilalan, Talitay, Maguindanao this afternoon, May 15, 2019.
Also recovered were empty shells, bandolier, camouflage uniforms, ICOM radio and 23 pcs of Cal .50 (linked).
The clearing operation was part of the military operation against the presence of armed lawless groups (ALG) in Talitay town.
Lt. Col. Crizaldo A. Fernandez, the Commanding Officer of 90th IB, said that they will pursue the lawless groups in barangays Bentan and Manggay of the same town as there are reported presence of ALG.
Meanwhile, 603rd Brigade Commander Col. Wilbur C. Mamawag said that the recoveries was part of the focused military operation to thwart the local terrorists in creating havoc in his area of jurisdiction.
“The Joint Task Force Central remained committed to provide a secured environment to all the communities even after the election,” said JTF Central Commander Maj. General Cirilito E. Sobejana.
