CAMP GEN SERVILLANO AQUINO, Tarlac City (DWDD) – Operating troops of Northern Luzon Command (NOLCOM) again discovered an encampment used by the Communist NPA Terrorist Group (CNTG) in Sitio Mabungtot, Brgy Ud-udiao, Sallapadan in the province of Abra on July 1, 2018 (Sunday).
The New People’s Army (NPA) campsite was found while Army soldiers of the 24th Infantry “On Guard” Battalion (24IB) of the Joint Task Force (JTF) “Kaugnay” were conducting Focused Military Operations (FMO).
Said abandoned encampment is located in a densely vegetated area that can accommodate eighteen (18) NPA terrorists, which area is about a hundred square meters.
Found at the said encampment were personal belongings of female NPA members, medicines and food sachets.
NOLCOM troops will be relentless in keeping the enemies of the state on the run to deprive them the opportunity to recruit new members, extort from the people and further execute its hostile plans that will endanger the lives of the security forces and the civilians.
NOLCOM also recognizes the important role of the community to make the counter-insurgency effort more sustainable and meaningful in attaining lasting peace. NOLCOM / MCAG
