250 Army aspirants take oath in 2ID

From the Philippine Information Agency (Jul 4): 250 Army aspirants take oath in 2ID

Camp General Mateo Capinpin, Tanay, Rizal -- 250 Army aspirants took oath as candidate soldiers during the opening ceremony of the Candidate Soldier Course Classes 562 and 563 – 2018 at 2nd Division Training School (2DTS) view deck on June 30, 2018.

The new recruits are composed of 244 males and 6 females who passed the Complete Physical Examination (CPE) at 2nd Army Station Hospital (2ASH). The recruits went through medical, psychological, and physical examination to determine their fitness to undergo the training.

Major General Rhoderick M Parayno, AFP, Commander, 2ID graced the event as the keynote speaker. He extended his warm welcome to those candidates who qualified and also commended the 2ID staff behind the screening and selection.

(I asked you important questions regarding your determination to become a soldier because it is not a joke)."

Your joining in the ranks of the army means turning your back from the life you are used to. Taking that step inside this training ground means you voluntarily give not just your service but also your life to the country)," he said.

This course will help mold the qualities that a soldier should possess such as patriotism, professionalism, and most of all, discipline), he added.

The new recruits will undergo five month basic military training prior to enlistment in the army.

The activity concluded with the reception rites. In the reception rites, a time-honored military tradition for welcoming the chosen few who heeded the call of soldiery, the army aspirants undergo sets of physical exercises to test their fitness and determination.
