CAMP SERVILLANO AQUINO, Tarlac City (DWDD) – Troops from the 24^th Infantry Battalion of the 5^th Infantry Star Division, encountered the terrorist group New People’s Army (NPA) at in the afternoon of November 27, 2017, in Sitio Nagas-asan, Brgy Ud-udiao, Sallapadan, Abra.

 

The Northern Luzon Command troopers were on security patrol, when they chanced upon the NPA criminal/terror   group   and   eventually   engaged   in   a   firefight.

The   said   terrorist group   were members of the Agustin Begnalin Command, Kilusang Larangang Gerilya (KLG) North Abra of the  Ilocos-Cordillera Regional  Party Committee  (ICRC)  being   led   by Abdon Siddayao @CHICO/ABDUL/RIM.

There   was   an   undetermined   number   of   casualties   on   the   NPA side   while   one (1) personnel from the said army unit was wounded in his leg as a result of the encounter.

The   Northern   Luzon   Command   (NOLCOM)   continuously   conducts   focused   military operations   (FMO)   in   selected   areas   of   Northern   Luzon   frequently   visited   by   the remnants of the NPA criminal group, preventing them from sowing terror to the populace and hinder development and progress in the area. 5DPAO/MCAG
