Two informants got richer by P100,000 each for the capture of two alleged national officials of the Communist Party of the Philippines- New People's Army last month in Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental.

Maj. Gen. Jon Aying, 3rd Infantry Division commanding general, yesterday said P100,000 each has been received by the two informants, whose identities he has withheld for security reasons.

The cash rewards were for the combined operatives of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group and Army intelligence units captured Louie Antonio Martinez, alias Louie, who ranked number four in the National Military Commission of the CPP-NPA national hierarchy, and Aurora Cayon,aliasLilay, said to be a member of the National Finance Commission.

Aying said it was Col. EliezerLosanes, 303rd Infantry Brigade commander, who presented the cash rewards to the two informants.

Concerned Negrenses are giving P100,000 rewards each for the capture or neutralization of any NPA member, who has served the underground movement for a long period,Aying said.

Martinez and Cayon are facing additional charges for illegal possession of firearms and explosives, following the recovery of a 45 caliber pistol and a fragmentation grenade during their arrest.

LosaƱes said Cayon has a pending arrest warrant for robbery with violence, or intimidation of a person, as well as arson, while Martinez is facing murder and multiple attempted murder charges.

Both are now detained at Camp Crame, since they are both high value cadres of the CPP-NPA, Lt. Col. Ray Tiongson, Army Public Affairs Office chief, said.

For those who want to surrender, Aying reiterated that the government is offering P300,000 for those who will turn over a high-powered firearm, and P100,000 for those without a gun.

For groups of rebels, he added that the government is also offering them resettlement areas and livelihood assistance, aside from the financial help.
