International Monitoring Team-Mindanao Mission 12 (IMT-M 12) have undertaken a Confidence Building Measures (CBM) Program on 21 April 2017 with a visit to the Camp Siongco Military Hospital, 6th Infantry Division, Philippine Army at Awang, Datu Odin Sinsuat, Maguindanao where four (4) wounded in action (WIA) soldiers of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) were receiving medical treatment resulting from the Law Enforcement Support Operation (LESO) in Barangay Elian, Datu Saudi Ampatuan, Maguindanao.
The CBM program was attended by the MILF CCCH Chairman, Hon. Butch Malang, the GPH CCCH Chairman, BGen Earl D Baliao AFP, the Head Combine Secretariat of GPH CCCH and GPH AHJAG, Director Carlos T Sol Jr. and the Chief of Staff of the IMT M-12, Col Ayub Khan bin Mohammad Khan of the Royal Malaysian Armed Forces (RMAF) who represented the Head of Mission.
The program was a success where it enhanced the trust between the two parties. It is hoped that this CBM program could be continuously organized by both parties in the future.
