Marine Colonel Edgard Arevalo said that government troops are working doubly hard to find the location of the kidnappers and the kidnap victim.

Chief of Staff General Eduardo Año confidently says that they will be able to rescue Kantner from the bandits.

“Just like what we have been saying, until he’s alive there is still hope. We are not stopping and that’s what we like to emphasize. There might be times that we are silent, there’s a lull but it doesn’t mean, that is not the case on the ground,” he added.

Arevalo said that the troops on the ground continue to conduct intensified operations against the bandits and rescue the victim.

He added that they initially have information where the bandits and kidnap victim are but they cannot disclose it.

“We have information where they are but we cannot divulge it as of this time,” he said.

Earlier, the commander of the AFP Joint Task Force Sulu assured that they are doing everything they can to rescue Kantner who remains in the hands of suspected Abu Sayyaf bandits.
