Troopers from the 46th Infantry Battalion have arrested two
rebel bombers who were responsible for the improvised explosive device (IED)
attack that wounded five soldiers in Mabini town, Compostela Valley
on Saturday.
The suspects were arrested 9:30 a.m. of the same day, said
10th Infantry Division public affairs office chief Capt. Rhyan Batchar.
They were arrested while in the act of laying IEDs at Purok
13, Barangay Golden.
The two were identified as Ronie Consolacion Mimi, 23 and
Sonny Mimi, 22.
The suspects are cousins and residents of Sitio Palali of
the same barangay.
Recovered from their possession were three unexploded IEDs,
300-meter wire, two switch device and a Motoposh motorcycle.
Earlier, five troopers were wounded after an IED detonated
by the two at Sitios Logdeck and Candinuyan at 12: 45 a.m.
