ABS-CBN (Dec 23): Cafgu detachment in N. Cotabato strafed
PIKIT, North Cotabato - A Cafgu detachment under the 22nd CAA Bravo Company of the Army's 38th Infantry Battalion was harassed by a still unidentified group at Barangay Nalapaan, Pikit, North Cotabato on Tuesday evening.
Authorities say the Cafgus assigned in the area were already inside their bunks when they heard gunshots being fired on their position, prompting them to fire back.
They believe there were at least 50 attackers stationed some 100 meters from the detachment. The detachment is located along the national highway.
The gun battle lasted for about 20 minutes but police said no one was hurt in the said incident.
No evacuation was also reported.
