NPA asked to release soldier

From the Philippine Star (Jun 8): NPA asked to release soldier

The New People’s Army (NPA) has been urged to release an Army soldier that the rebels seized in T’boli town here in April.

The NPA’s Far South Mindanao Region confirmed last week that they were holding captive PFC Khen Subere of the Army’s 27th Infantry Battalion.

Gov. Daisy Avance-Fuentes on Saturday appealed over the radio for the rebels to release Subere.

The NPA command in South Cotabato had asked for a suspension of military operations in exchange for Subere’s release.
