The Army’s 303rd Infantry Brigade will soon deploy 270 Civilian Armed Forces Geographical Unit members in Negros Occidental, its commander, Col. Jon Aying, said yesterday.
The 270 CAFGU members graduated yesterday from the three-month basic military training in a ceremony held at Barangay La Granja, La Carlota City, with Mayor Juliet Marie Ferrer as guest of honor and speaker.
Aying said the 270 CAFGUs will be deployed in insurgency-affected areas of Negros.
More than 1,000 CAFGUs are now deployed in Negros Occidental, and are supervised by the 12th Infantry (Cadre) Battalion, military records show.
