From ABS-CBN (Jun 21): BIFF commander killed in Basilan clash: military

A top commander of the Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters (BIFF) was killed in a firefight with government troops in Al-Barka, Basilan on Saturday morning, the military said.

Col. Carlito Galvez, commander of the 104th Infantry Brigade, said BIFF commander Basir Kasaran was killed after being shot in the head by a sniper.
