From the Philippine Star (May 12): Blast hits power plant in Iloilo

An explosion rocked a power plant in Iloilo province, destroying a steel tower in the area, the Philippine National Police reported on Monday.

Belated reports received by the PNP headquarters in Camp Crame, Quezon City said the blast at the National Grid Corp. of the Philippines power line steel tower located in Barangay Indag-an, Miag-ao, Iloilo took place on Friday  at about 11:30 p.m, damaging the  cemented portion of one of the posts.

As of the moment, the PNP said the steel tower is still non-operational.

Authorities discovered that an improvised explosive device was used by the culprits to blow up the structure.

Barangay Indag-an is 3.5 kilometers away from the town proper of Miag-ao and Miag-ao is 40 kilometers away south of Iloilo City.
