91 new soldiers complete six-month training

From the Philippine News Agency (Mar 28): 91 new soldiers complete six-month training

  CAMP EVANGELISTA, Cagayan de Oro City -- Exactly 91 male candidate soldiers had successfully completed the six-month Candidate Soldier Course Class here on Tuesday.

Lt. Col. Eugenio Julio Osias, IV, spokesperson of the army’s 4th Infantry Division here,said that the soldiers passed both the physical and academic aspect of the training which were the basis for their graduation.

The graduation ceremony was held Tuesday at the grandstand of the camp’s sprawling parade ground here, The six-month basic soldiery training aimed to transform the soldier’s civilian antiques to that of a discipline soldier, Osias said.

He said the training also focused on military tactics in order to enrich the technical aspect of a soldier to perform multi-tasking assignments as a new member of the Army.

Osias said the new soldiers were also taught on the Basic Military Knowledge and Skills, Jungle Warfare, Mountaineering Operations, the Army Core Values, rule of law, Human Rights and International Humanitarian Law.

The members of the Class 302-12 came from various provinces in Northern and Western Mindanao areas, Osias said.

During the graduation ceremony, Maj. Gen.l Nestor A Añonuevo, ommander of the 4th ID, exhorted the new graduates to make their families and country proud and treasure “your service by making your every action contribute towards attaining peace for the people.”
