The 12th joint marine exercises between with Philippine and Australian navies will commence Monday, October 22, focusing on anti-terrorism, disaster response, and human and drug trafficking. "Lumbas 2012," the 12th annual Maritime Training Activity (MTA) involving the Philippine Navy and the Royal Australian Navy, will start Monday aboard the HMAS Sydney in Manila's South Harbor. An estimated 300 personnel from both groups will be involved in the 5-day activity, including members of the Philippine Coast Guard, Philippine National Police, Bureau of Immigration, National Bureau of Investigation, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency, and the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources. The training will also have activities on maritime security, surveillance and interdiction....
