MAGPET, COTABATO – Army’s 72 Infantry (Gabay) Battalion in partnership with Technical Education Skills Development Authority (TESDA), and collaborarion with the Department of Agriculture (DA), Agricultural Training Institute (ATI), Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) and Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) launched the first Integrated Farm School situated in Barangay Pangao-an, municipality of Magpet on August 28, 2020.

The farm school known as the Gabay-Bayawanon Intergrated Farm School is a pet project of 72IB primarily aims to benefit former Underground Mass Organizations (UGMO) members, Former Rebels, and Cafgu Active Auxiluary (CAA) for their livelihood. The said farm school will be used as venue in conducting different trainings and seminars sanctioned by TESDA to enhance individuals skills in Agriculture Technology. It is one of the sustainment efforts of 72IB in connection with the Community Support Program (CSP) organized People’s Organizarions established in different barangays under its Area of Operations.










The said learning site was accredited by the Department of Agriculture-Agricultural Training Institute which was facilitated by the Farm Manager and Administrator, Ms Donabelle Cabaya and was constructed through the efforts of Gabay troopers and CAAs.

During the launching program, Hon Florenito Gonzaga, Magpet Mayor graced the activity as Guest Speaker together with ATI Region 12 Director, Head of MARO-Magpet, representatives from TESDA- Cotabato, local officials, and PO Members. Mayor Gonzaga said in his message ” The LGU of Magpet is very grateful on the initiative of 72IB in establishing this learning site for our farmers. I for one as a farmer, I will support this noble endeavor to develop the skills of our farmers and maximize the output of farm products through new technology”.

In response, Lt. Col. Rey T. Alvarado, Commander, 72IB said “ We can sustain our gains if we can uplift the lives of our farmers. Your Army, in partnership with the LGU are hoping that this farm school will be the foundation of every farmers success and survival especially in times of the pandemic we are experiencing now. Your Army will always support the programs of the local government and help facilitate the priority projects of the government”.
