State forces would rather be deceitful to the public, than be truthful and admit its failure and recognize their enemy’s success. In an institution favoured with billions of pesos for intelligence operations, advance skills trainings and modernization projects, cover-up stories are standard procedure to avoid budget cuts, humiliation or demotion.

While the chief of police of Calatrava MPS and the commander of the 79th IB of AFP kept mum on the issue, NOCPPO’s PLt. Judessess Catalogo and 303rd IBde Commanding Officer BGen. Orlando Edralin and even former 79th IB Commanding Officer J-Jay Javines publicly appeared to play their piece of the script to rescue their blunder. In an orchestrated manner, both the PNP and AFP released lies upon lies unwittingly validating their defeat in the ambush mounted by the NPA.

1. Policemen from Calatrava Municipal Police Station responded to an earlier punitive action en route to Sitio Batyogon, not to serve arrest warrants of supposed NPA officials. There was an initial report of a shooting incident prompting local reactionary authorities to proceed to the area. The mere fact that their convoy was comprised of barangay officials and employees aboard a rescue vehicle and a canter truck escorted by the Calatrava MPS on a patrol vehicle clearly attest to this claim.

2. The incident in Sitio Calanugan was an ambush, not an armed encounter. With the tactical superiority of the NPA unit positioned in favorable terrain with a level of secrecy, the Calatrava MPS was taken by surprise when a command-detonated bomb exploded followed by selective rifle fire at their direction, they immediately disembarked from the running vehicle scampering away from the killing zone with no effective return fire.

3. AFP claims that the Northern Negros Guerilla Front has now only eight (8) Red fighters, while local PNP involved stated that armed men firing at them ranged from 20 to 30. This inconsistency raises questions of the current (and even the future) relationship between these two fascist institutions. Again, their claims of “dismantled” and “weakened” guerrilla fronts and “remnant” fighters are insubstantial to the Negros masses who are continually seeking justice and liberation from a century-old oppressive and exploitative system.

Barangay Minapasuk has witnessed the deception tactics of fascist troops before. Here, #DiMasaligan79IB fabricated fake encounters to boost their failing counter-insurgency campaign. On June 2021, AFP claimed to have killed a certain Johnrey Pahayahay, maliciously tagged as an NPA member, in an encounter. Pahayahay was a notorious criminal and not, in any way, related to the NPA (1). Another fake encounter on June 2022 culminated the attack on farmers’ communities, including residents being subjects to massive forced surrender, controlled movements, among other human rights violations (2), including an aerial bombardment threat precluded by public opposition (3).

On the other hand, the local police force is active in enforcing an anti-people counter-insurgency program led by the NTF-Elcac. They have collaborated with the #DiMasalagan79IB in perpetrating various rights violations, specifically HRVs perpetrated in the said barangay, by blindly enforcing the fascist’s propaganda line rather than exposing the truth in defense of civilian victims.

The recent success of the RJPC-NPA is made possible by the unfathomable support of the broad masses, especially the victims of state forces’ merciless anti-people campaign to crush the revolution.

Long live the revolution! Viva CPP-NPA-NDF! Long live the oppressed masses!

Nadumduman, ini ang una nga engkwentro sa tunga sang New People’s Army kag tropa sang Airborne 6th Special Forces sa panahon sang IDKP (Ikaduha nga Dungganon Kahublagan Panadlong). Si Kaupod Leonardo Panaligan ang sulo nga namartir sa edad nga 21 anyos matapos nga nagdesisyon nga maglubos panahon nga mag-alagad sa pumuluyo sa kaumahan dira sa hangaway sang banwa matapos man nga nakagradwar sa Bachelor of Arts in Political Science sa UNO-R (University of Negros Occidental Recolletos), Bacolod City sadtong Abril 1999.

Si Ka LEONARDO PANALIGAN ang kilala sang iya pamilya, mga abyan kag kadam-an nga isa ka maalam, mabuot kag relihiyoso nga pamatan-on. Samtang diri man nahisayran sang masa kag mga kaupod ang kapintas sang pasistang militar nga bisan wala na sang ginhawa si Ka Jessie ang gin-finishing pa sang nasambit nga tropa militar bangud sang naagum sini nga kahalitan sa ila hanay sa nasambit nga engkwentro.

Ang malig-on nga rebolusyonaryong panindugan, panan-awan kag siyentipikong pamaagi ni Leonardo “Ka Jessie” Panaligan ang gilayon gin-usoy nga banas sang mga pamatan-on, mga aktibista, mga kadre kag katapu-an sang Partido sa puting lugar kag sentrong syudad sa isla. Ang ginpakita nga kaisog kag kamatayon ni Ka LEONARDO ang nangin inspirasyon kag naghatag sang determinasyon sa bug-os nga rebolusyonaryo kahublagan sa isla agud atubangon ang unos sang rebolusyon dira sa komprehensibo kag integrado nga pagpauswag sang mga rebolusyonaryong hilikuton.

Ang kamatayon ni Ka LEONARDO PANALIGAN ang kaangay sang pag-igrab sang kalayo sang rebolusyon sa kaumahan sa isla sang Negros. Namartir man si Ka Jessie apang 17 gilayon ang nagpasakop sa NPA gikan sa hanay sang organisasyon masa sa sentrong syudad kag white area. Tuig 2002 ginlunsar ang paghanas pulitiko-militar kag nakapatuhaw sang mga potensyal kag maayo nga mga kadre sang Partido agud pamunuan ang padayon nagadako nga isip sang Bag-ong Hangaway sang Banwa kag labi nga nagalapad nga baseng masa.

Tuig 2005 madinalag-on nga natigayon ang una nga kumperensya sang Partido sa isla matapos ang IDKP. Labi pa nga ginkonsolida kag ginpalapad ang baseng masa kag naangat ang organisasyon masa. Gintukod ang mga kumpanya sang Bag-ong Hukbo sang Banwa kag nangin lapnagon ang madinalag-on nga taktikal nga opensiba nga nakapatuhaw sang armas kag nagpaslaw sa kampanya militar sang kaaway kag estado. Nagpagsik ang minimum nga pagpatuman sang repormang agraryo kag iban pa nga paghimakas masa sa bug-os nga isla kabangdanan man sang pagdako nga isip sang mga katapuan sang Partido kag mga kadre sang Partido.

Ang operational command sang Leonardo Panaligan Command-New People’s Army ang pursigido kag determinado nga nagpapel sang iya integradong hilikuton sa pagpadako kag pagpalig-on sang baseng masa, agraryong rebolusyon kag pagsulong sang armadong paghimakas. Namentinar ang kusog kumpanya sang hukbo kag pagdebelopar sang mga kadre sang Partido agud hugot nga pamunuan ang kumprehensibong rebolusyonaryong hilikuton sa isla.

Tuig 2015-2017 padayon nga pagdako ang kusog sang Hangaway sang Banwa. Namentina ang kusog kumpanya sang pulang hangaway, batalyon nga kusog sang yunit milisya kag nakatukod sang iban pa nga yunit gerilya sa mga syudad kag munisipalidad. Bangud sa suporta sang masa, nakalunsar sang mga madinalag-on nga atrisyon tubtob sandigan nga taktikal nga opensiba nga nakapatuhaw sang mga armas kag lohistika militar. Isa na diri ang madinalag-on nga pagreyd sa bayaran nga yunit sang RPA-ABB sa La Castellana, Negros Occidental sadtong 2015 nga nakakumpiska sang 5 ka matag-as nga kalibre sang armas. The Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) applauds the units of the New People’s Army (NPA) which staged the tactical offensives in the islands of Negros and Masbate over the past few days by way of defending the peasant masses against abuses perpetrated by the military and police forces of the Marcos fascist regime.

Amid heightened attacks and abuses carried out by the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and Philippine National Police (PNP) against the broad masses, especially in the countryside, it is but just and urgent for the NPA to carry out armed struggle to defend the rights and interests of the people.

Military and police abuses in Masbate island have intensified over the past months amid the push of the Filminera Mining Company to expand its gold mining operations which would dislocate farmers and damage the environment.

In Negros, military and police abuses continue to run rampant as several battalions of military troops occupy and hamlet rural villages to suppress the demand of the peasant masses and farm workers for land and higher wages.

Units of the NPA across the country should carry out more tactical offensives to fight the brutal fascist attacks carried out by the Marcos regime against the people, and frustrate the enemy’s strategic offensives.

The Party calls on all units of the NPA across the country to continue strengthening and expanding its ties with the peasant masses, help build their organized strength, wage struggles for land reform and carry out widespread guerrilla warfare.

Malacañang officials announced over the weekend that they are busy preparing an amnesty package which it describes as a “landmark move toward reconciliation and reintegration” but which, in fact, is a treacherous enticement to induce armed revolutionary fighters of the New People’s Army (NPA) to give up their weapons of resistance and surrender the people’s struggle for freedom and democracy.

Marcos is preparing to stage a big show around the planned amnesty declaration to create a distorted picture of “peace and development” in order to cover up the gross state of human rights and international humanitarian law in the Philippines. Marcos aims to use the so-called amnesty program to hide the fact rampant abuses and rights violations continue to be committed by his armed forces with utter impunity.

In particular, Marcos wants to stage the amnesty drama as a show for the European Union, with which negotiations for a free trade agreement are set to commence next month. Wanting to manipulate the European public’s perception, EU President Ursula von der Leyen, during a recent visit to Manila, made the baseless and false declaration that the state of human rights under Marcos “is better.” This is in direct contradiction to the resolution last year of the European Parliament calling for an end to extrajudicial killings and other rights violations by state forces.

In the face of economic recessions and slow growth in Europe, backward economies including the Philippines, and others are being compelled by monopoly capitalists to further liberalize economic trade with Europe under so-called free trade agreements to push down wage levels and completely remove tariffs on imported commodities.

Nothing new is expected from the Marcos regime’s planned “amnesty.” It is set to be no different from the old psywar tricks and tactics used by the fascist forces. Since 2017, this has taken the form of a brutal “surrender drive” aiming at civilians in wholesale violation of international humanitarian law. Tens of thousands have been declared “surrenderees” in gross violation of their civil and political rights.

Under this tactic, peasant villages and communities which the AFP suspects to be part of the broad mass base of the New People’s Army, have been placed under military rule and subjected to severe forms of political repression. Extrajudicial killings, abductions, torture, harassment, strafing and aerial bombings, hamletting, forcible recruitment of paramilitaries and spies, and other abuses continue to be perpetrated by state military and police forces victimizing close to a hundred thousand people in just the first year of Marcos.

Thus, we can expect even worse human rights abuses once Marcos declares his false amnesty, as well as corruption in hundreds of millions of pesos in funds that will be allotted to this and other programs under the auspices of the AFP. In further violation of international humanitarian law, thousands upon thousands more of peasants, workers and other ordinary people will be forced by the military and police to “seek amnesty” in its desperate effort to conjure an image of victory over the people’s armed resistance, especially under his 6-year national security plan.

All these, however, are in vain as the more and more people are being aroused to take the path of resistance to defend their social, economic, cultural and political rights against worsening state terrorism. The Filipino people and the revolutionary forces are ever determined to wage national democratic resistance to attain their aspirations for genuine national freedom and democracy.

Dulot nang hindi na maatim na epekto sa kabuhayan at pangamba sa buhay, ispontanyong kumilos ang mga mamamayan sa bayan ng Milagros upang palayasin ang punong himpilan ng 2nd Infantry Battalion-Philippine Army na nakabase sa naturang bayan.

Ayon sa nakuhang ulat ng Jose Rapsing Command-BHB Masbate, nagtipon sa bulwagan ng munisipyo ang mga residente ng Sityo Baclay, Barangay Bacolod sa Milagros at iba pang kanugnog na mga komunidad upang ipetisyon sa alkalde ng naturang bayan ang pagpapaalis sa kampo ng batalyon sa kanilang lugar. Irineklamo ng mga residente ang gambalang hatid ng kampo militar sa kanilang hanapbuhay at takot na idinudulot ng presensya ng militar laluna sa mga kabataan.

Dulot nito, natulak ang naturang batalyon na lisanin ang lugar at maghanap ng lilipatan. Tinanggihan ng ilang mga barangay ang paglipat ng 2nd IBPA headquarters sa kanilang lugar bago pwersahing ipuwesto ang kanilang kampo sa Barangay Panicijan sa bayan ng Uson.

Ayon kay Ka Luz del Mar, tagapagsalita ng Jose Rapsing Command-Bagong Hukbong Bayan Masbate, nagsisilbing inspirasyon ang ipinamalas na katapangan at paninindigan ng mga mamamayan ng Barangay Bacolod sa iba pang komunidad upang alisin ang takot at sama-samang harapin ang atakeng militar.

Aniya, pinatunayan ng mamamayan ng Milagros ang lakas at kapangyarihan ng nagkakaisang pagkilos ng masa, lalo kung ito’y organisado sa balangkas ng malawakang anti-pasistang pakikibaka.

Mariing kinukundena ng Jose Rapsing Command – Bagong Hukbong Bayan Masbate ang nagpapatuloy na malawakang militarisasyon sa mga bayan ng Mobo at Uson. Kahindik-hindik na terorismo at abusong militar ang ipinararanas sa mga komunidad sa naturang mga lugar upang takutin ang mamamayan at supilin ang kanilang pagtutol sa nagbabadyang ekspansyon ng mapaminsalang operasyong mina na Masbate Gold Project ng kumpanyang Filminera.

Mula Agosto 5, humigit-kumulang 400 ng pinagsamang tropa ng 96th IBPA at 2nd IBPA ang sumalakay sa malaking bahagi ng naturang mga bayan para sindakin sa takot ang mga mamamayan ng naturang lugar.

Dinampot din at binugbog si Dante Dionan noong Agosto 6 sa parehong lugar habang iligal na hinalughog ang bahay at ninakawan ng cellphone si Letot Francisco sa Sityo Malapinggan, Barangay Sawmill. Kinabukasan, walang habas na pinagbabaril ang isang sibilyan sa Sityo Irong-irong sa hangganan ng Barangay Mabuhay, Sawmill at Baang.

Bago nito, naglunsad ang militar ng serye ng pagpatay, kabilang ang bigong pagpaslang sa punong baryo ng Barangay Barag na si Rodolfo Ygot at pagpatay sa magsasakang si Randy Mahinay sa Barangay San Carlos, Milagros noong Hulyo. Kapwa tinututulan ng naturang mga indibidwal ang ekspansyon ng Filminera.

Naiulat din ang planong pagtayuan ng mga kampo militar ang mga barangay ng San Jose, Sawmill at Baang. Lahat ito ay nakapalibot sa mga lugar na sasaklawin ng pagpapalawak ng Filminera.

Lalong inilalantad ng malawakang militarisasyon sa mga bayan ng Mobo at Uson ang reputasyon ng Armed Forces of the Philippines bilang mga bayarang armadong pwersa ng naghaharing uri.

Hindi dapat maghari ang takot sa mamamayang Masbatenyo. Hindi sila dapat pumayag na makalbo ang pinakamamahal na Mt. Irong-irong, Bagulayag at Uwac na kritikal upang mapreserba ang kalikasan sa Masbate. Tuluyang pagkawala ng kabuhayan at lupa, pagkapinsala ng kalikasan at pagkatangay ng buhay at kinabukasan ang kanilang sasapitin kung hindi kikilos.

Nananawagan ang Jose Rapsing Command – BHB Masbate sa mga mamamayan ng prubinsya na makibaka upang tutulan ang pagpapalawak ng Filminera-Masbate Gold Project at kaakibat nitong terorismong militar sa mga komunidad ng magsasaka at mangingisda.

Hinihikayat din ang mga upisyal ng barangay na manindigan para sa interes ng kanilang mga komunidad na nasasakupan. Bagamat sila ang pinakabulnerableng target ng atakeng militar sa hanay ng mga sibilyang upisyal, kritikal ang kanilang paggigiit ng sibilyang otoridad upang impluwensyahan ang pagkilos ng kani-kanilang pinagsisilbihang komunidad.

Bagamat instrumento lamang ng lokal na naghaharing-uri ang paparating na halalang pambarangay ngayong Oktubre 2023 para ikonsolida ang kanilang kapangyarihan, tiyak na susukatin ang mga kandidato sa kanilang sinseridad na maglingkod sa matapang nilang pagpanig sa mamamayan.

Kailangang lumaban. Hindi solusyon ang pagkakawatak-watak. Kasama ng mamamayang Masbatenyo ang kanilang Hukbo sa ilalim ng Jose Rapsing Command-BHB Masbate upang panagutin ang kumpanyang Filminera at mga burukratang kakuntsaba nito sa kriminal na pagdambong sa yamang likas at pangwawasak. Sa suporta ng mamamayan, patuloy na maglulunsad ang BHB-Masbate ng mga taktikal na opensiba upang pagbayarin nang mahal ang AFP-PNP-CAFGU sa kanilang inutang na dugo sa mga Masbatenyo.

The Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) applauds the units of the New People’s Army (NPA) which staged the tactical offensives in the islands of Negros and Masbate over the past few days by way of defending the peasant masses against abuses perpetrated by the military and police forces of the Marcos fascist regime.

Amid heightened attacks and abuses carried out by the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and Philippine National Police (PNP) against the broad masses, especially in the countryside, it is but just and urgent for the NPA to carry out armed struggle to defend the rights and interests of the people.

Military and police abuses in Masbate island have intensified over the past months amid the push of the Filminera Mining Company to expand its gold mining operations which would dislocate farmers and damage the environment.

In Negros, military and police abuses continue to run rampant as several battalions of military troops occupy and hamlet rural villages to suppress the demand of the peasant masses and farm workers for land and higher wages.

Units of the NPA across the country should carry out more tactical offensives to fight the brutal fascist attacks carried out by the Marcos regime against the people, and frustrate the enemy’s strategic offensives.

The Party calls on all units of the NPA across the country to continue strengthening and expanding its ties with the peasant masses, help build their organized strength, wage struggles for land reform and carry out widespread guerrilla warfare.

Ginasunud-sunod sila sang pasistang tropa sang 62nd IB kon magkadto sila sa ila mga uma kag bisan pa gani sa pagpanglawig sang ila mga kasapatan. Ginapunggan sila sang mga militar nga maggwa sa ila mga puluy-an kag ginapahug nga kon anu matabo sa tropa militar kon mggwa sila sa ila puluy-an balikan sila sang militar kag pamatyon. Nagtuga ini sang kahadlok sa mga residente ilabi na sa mga kabataan.

May kolum man sang militar nga nagapangsaka-saka sa mga kabalayan sa mga sityo sang Tampa kag Anahaw tanan sang Brgy. Nagsaha, Guihulngan City. May kolum man sang militar sa Sityo Mandi-e Gamay kag Dako, sakop sang Brgy. Magsaysay Guihulngan City.

Samtang gikan pa Agosto 5 tubtob subong, padayon man nga nagatiner ang masobra 50 ka berdugong militar upod sa mga CAFGU sang Casingan Army Detachment sa Kambairan Elementary School sang Sityo Kambairan, Brgy. Trinidad, Guihulngan City. Ginhimo man nga kampo militar ang nasambit nga buluthuan. Ara ang presensya ni Reymart Dayanan, Gerome Geronimo, Yuling Landisa, Regine Landisa kag Nano Montesino nga nagagiya sa militar sa pagpangsaka-saka sa mga kabalayan kag nagapamahug sa mga mangunguma. Ginapasibangdan nila ang mga residente nga mga suporter sang NPA. Samtang mentinado nga nagatiner ang pasistang 62nd IB sa Brgy. hall sang Brgy. Macagahay, Moises Padilla.

Agosto 12 may nag-abot nga masobra 50 ka tropa sang 62nd IB sa Brgy. Puso Proper, La Castellana. May kolum man sang militar sa Sityo Natuling, Brgy. Budlasan, Canlaon City.

Sa kabilugan, naglab-ot sa 8 ka kolum kag 200-250 ka tropa militar ang nakapakat sa magkatambi nga mga baryo sa Guihulngan City, Canlaon City, Moises Padilla kag La Castellana.

Sugatan sa pananambang ang barangay Kapitan ng Barangay Bonifacio, Uson na si Democ Movera at dalawa nitong kasamahang CAFGU noong Agosto 9, 2023. Sakay ang tatlo sa isang pick-up trak nang pasabugan ng isang tim ng mga pulang mandirigma ang kanilang sinasakyan. Sila Movera at kasamahan ay mga kasapi ng ALSA MASA o mga ahente ng militar

Nangyari ang aksyon ng BHB sa gitna ng tuluy-tuloy at magkakasabay na operasyong militar ng 2nd Infantry Battalion-Philippine Army at 96th Infantry Battalion-Philippine Army sa mga bayan ng Mobo at Uson. Daan-daang militar ang bara-barangay na sumasakyada sa nasabing mga bayan. Tinatakot at pinagbantaan ang mga residente. Noong Agosto 6, 2023 hinuli sa Sityo Catmon, boundery ng Barangay Bonifacio at Barangay Simawa, Uson ang mga magsasakang sina Nonoy Francisco, Bongbong Francisco, Ome Malaque at kinunan ng mga litrato. Kasabay nito, dinampot at binugbog din ng mga militar si Dante Dionan.

Malaki ang naging papel ni Movera sa nagpapatuloy na operasyong militar sa kanilang lugar. Sa halip na tulungan ang kanyang mga nasasakupan at ilantad ang ginawang malawakang operasyong militar ay lubusan itong nagpagamit sa kaaway laban sa rebolusyonaryong kilusan at masa. Tumutulong ito upang matuloy ang ekspansyon ng Filminera-Masbate Gold Project sa mga bulubuduking dumudugtong sa mga bayan ng Uson, Mobo at Milagros. Aktibo rin ang nasabing kapitan sa kampanyang pagpapasurender at pagsusuplong sa mga kakilala niyang kasapi ng mga samahan ng mga magsasaka sa kanilang lugar.

Tuluy-tuloy at malawakan ang operasyon militar sa ikalawa at ikatlong distrito ng prubinsya. Layunin nitong itaboy sa takot ang mga residente na patuloy na nagmamatigas na umalis sa mga lugar na ipapailalim sa ekspansyon ng dayuhang kumpanyang Filminera. Kinakasangkapan ng kumpanya ang militar at mga lokal na upisyal gamit ang panunuhol upang ihanda ang lugar sa pagpasok ng mga kagamitan nito sa pagmimina.

Marapat lang na magkaisa ang masang Masbatenyo laban sa terror ng AFP at sa ekspansyon ng Filminera na wawasak sa kabuhayan ng masang magsasaka. Wala nang panahon upang patuloy na matakot! Kailangang sama-samang kumilos ang masang Masbatenyo upang ipagtanggol at patuloy na pangalagaan ang kanilang kabuhayan at aria-arian. Hadlangan ang pagdambong ng Filminera sa likas na yaman at pagwasak sa kinabukasan ng susunod na henerasyon ng Masbate.

Nananawagan ang Jose Rapsing Command-NPA Masbate sa mamamayang Masbatenyo na patuloy at mahigpit na suportahan ang armadong pakikibaka upang makamit ang tunay na katarungan at hustisya! Aunit of the Roselyn Jean Pelle Command-New People’s Army (RJPC-NPA) Northern Negros Guerrilla Front successfully seized four assault rifles, ammunition and a .45 calibre pistol after an ambush on a patrol vehicle carrying 10 police personnel of the Calatrava Municipal Police Station, including its deputy police chief, Capt. Jesus Alba.

Red fighters mounting the ambush at Sitio Calanugan, Barangay Minapasuk, Calatrava, Negros Occidental, yesterday, August 9 at around 9:40AM, used selective rifle fire and a command-detonated explosive to ensure the safety of civilians aboard the canter truck and rescue vehicle accompanying the patrol vehicle.

The NPA ambush killed a policeman, identified as PCpl. Jaime Nuñez Jr. of Barangay Tinampaan, Cadiz City, and wounded three others, Calatrava Deputy Chief PCapt. Alba PCpl. Dennis Nasis and Police Staff Sergeant Frank Caballero. The rest of the policemen were shocked and rattled, and scampered away from the killing zone without effecting any countermeasure.

Earlier, past 5:00AM, 3 kilometers from the ambush site, the same unit enforced the death verdict of the People’s Revolutionary Court for the capital crime of espionage and related grave offenses on Elisio Mahilum and Felix Resotay Sr at Sitio Batyogon, Barangay Minapasuk, Calatrava, Negros Occidental. The two were active intelligence assets involved in the AFP’s brutal counter-insurgency operations victimizing civilians. They served as guides in combat operations and provided reconnaissance on suspected NPA encampments, as well as, surveillance on civilians arbitrarily accused as NPA members or sympathizers.

The death verdict was promulgated two years ago after a fair and impartial trial, but enforced only recently to give them ample time to mend their ways and cease their anti-people counterrevolutionary activities.

These recent successive military actions in Calatrava only showed the initiative, flexibility and mobility of NPA units implementing guerrilla warfare to confront and frustrate the vicious attacks of the AFP and PNP mainly on farmer communities in the hinterland of Negros Island.

Amidst the desperate military and psywar attacks of state forces, it is the justness of people’s war that fuels the RJPC-NPA and the revolutionary masses in northern Negros to persist in consolidating and expanding its ranks. Government claims of “dismantled” and “weakened” guerrilla fronts and “remnant” fighters are insubstantial to the Negros masses who are continually seeking justice and liberation from a century-old oppressive and exploitative system.
