Three former spokesmen of the Philippine National Police
(PNP) and six other senior police officials have been promoted to the next
higher ranks with the approval of President Benigno S. Aquino III.
The President approved their promotions upon recommendation
by Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary and National
Police Commission (Napolcom) Chairman Manuel "Mar" Roxas and PNP
Director General Ricardo C. Marquez based on the evaluations of the Senior
Officers Placement and Promotion Board (SOPPB).
The PNP chief formally bestowed the two-star ranks on Police
Director Wilfredo D. Franco, the Director for Police Community Relations
(DPCR), and Police Director Generoso R. Cerbo Jr., the Director for
Intelligence (DI), in Camp Crame, Quezon City on Tuesday.
Franco served as the officer-in-charge of the Public
Information Office (PIO) for a week from June 11 to 19, 2015 before Chief Supt.
Wilben M. Mayor returned as Chief PIO.
Meanwhile, Cerbo assumed the post as Chief PIO on April 3,
2012 to June 10, 2013, and returned as such from Feb. 18, 2015 to April 27,
2015.
During the same ceremony, seven police senior
superintendents were promoted to the rank of chief superintendent. They are:
CSupt. Elmer C. Beltejar – Directorate for Integrated Police
Operations-North Luzon (DIPO-NL).
CSupt. Jerome S. Baxinella – Directorate for Human Resource
and Doctrine Development (DHRDD).
CSupt. Pedro B. Cabatingan Jr. – Internal Affairs Service
(IAS).
CSupt. Arnold D. Gunnacao – Highway Patrol Group (HPG).
CSupt. Bartolome C. Tobias – Senior Police Assistant to the
DILG Chief.
CSupt Conrado S. Capa – Directorate for Integrated Police
Operations-Visayas (DIPO-VIS).
CSupt. Perpetuo F. Macion – Internal Affairs Service (IAS).
Tobias also served as the officer-in-charge of the PIO from
April 27 to June 10, 2015.
