Personnel from the Philippine Army’s 18th Special Forces Company, PCG’s Special Operations Group - Palawan alongside with their US and Australian partners performed live-fire training as part of the ongoing BALIKATAN 38-2023 on April 19,2023 at Rizal, Palawan.The troops conducted familiarization of small arms and crew-served weapons aimed at enhancing the capabilities and skills of personnel in marksmanship both in land and sea particularly with the employment of assault watercrafts.
On the same day in El Nido, the Philippine Navy’s Naval Special Operations Unit 10 also performed live-firing exercise with their foreign counterparts.
The troops performed actual static range live fire on high ready position, tactical reload, combat reload, transition drills, shoot on the move, and shooting multiple target drills.
Both live-fire exercises highlighted the exchange of tactics, techniques and procedures among Filipino and foreign partners.
This kind of activity is geared at strengthening interoperability and readiness among personnel within WESCOM’s Joint Operational Area with their US and Australian counterparts in responding to future security challenges.
